Last week I went to The Station in Greenville, SC to style a non-traditional holiday tablescape. My bff Christine LeGrand came to take some pics and the incredibly talented Suzie from Statice supplied the florals! So without further delay here are the fruits of my labor and five great tips for pulling off a beautiful holiday tablescape!
#1 – Go for a monochromatic color scheme. I love the non-traditional pinks and reds that Suzie from Statice put together for us!
If you don’t have time to make a flower order then go to Whole Foods, Fresh Market, or wherever you can get some pretty blooms and pick out different textures in the same color family. Arrange them in different height vases across the center of your table and voila… instant focal point!
#2 – Find a tablecloth you love that has a lot of color & texture that contrasts your florals. I found this plaid fabric at Hobby Lobby and cut it up for an extra wide runner. Oh and it’s fleece… shhh don’t tell. But secretly I love it because it’s so cozy!
# 3 – Use food for decor. My favorite way to fancy up a table is with some apps on pretty cutting boards. The go-to when I’m entertaing is a block of brie with either raspberry or fig preserves and then crackers, fruit, nuts, etc etc. This cutting board is from Pottery Barn and you can find similar here and here. And aren’t these serving pieces amazing?!? They are from Anthropologie from last year but they have them in gold this year here.
#4 – Use bread and herbs for place settings! I love finding some pretty rolls (you can even get them from the discount bread section) and then tying up some nametags w/ twine and rosemary. Smells incredible and it’s so cute!
#5 – And finally, buy some fruit and use it everywhere!! Need a good cocktail? Go for some raspberries and champagne!
