Looking for an effortless look for a night on the town? I have an option for you to try! Chic black blouse to conceal any spills? Check. Said blouse tucked in to stay trendy? Check. Slimming black highrise denim perfect for indulging in your favorite meal? Check. An on-trend suede jacket, neutral booties and statement clutch? Check, check, check. This look is my no-fail outfit for when I need to rush out of the house. The tunic comes in a ton of colors and you can mix and match the jacket depending on the seasons. I would also wear this same outfit with a green jacket, a blazer or a denim jacket. I hope this helps you get ready stress-free for any weekend plans in this rainy winter we’re having.
I finally, yes finally, have all of my pictures edited from our trip to Maui and let me tell you… editing all of the photos you take on a 10 day vacation with your kids is no easy feat. Not only is there the “deleting the 837,293 blurry toddler photos” task but then you have to go through and figure out which of the 10 shots you want to keep of that palm tree. Can anybody else sympathize?

If you are planning on traveling to Maui here is a list of where to stay, where to eat, what to do and what to bring! Maui is quite possibly the best place we’ve ever traveled and there is no shortage of amazing food to eat and breathtaking sights to take in. I think I could have stayed for a month without ever missing home. We packed in as many restaurants, hotel visits, drink spots and shaved ice stops as we could and there was still so much left to try. In an effort to help out anyone planning a Maui vacation I thought I would compile the Ultimate Maui Travel Guide. Please share it with your friends or on Pinterest and as always, add your favorites in the comments! If you want to see scenes from our trip and a full recap of what we did you can head over to this post.
A quick makeup tutorial for getting ready in a jiffy without skipping any steps. I even covered up that nasty strawberry on my chin that I got flipping over the handlebars while biking. Hope this helps you get ready and if you have any questions leave a comment below! See more of my low-quality but “get the job done” videos on my YouTube page.

Happy Saturday! This post usually goes live on Friday but on Thursday by sweet Scottie girl got the flu so I was on momma duty all day Friday. We had to scrap our plans to attend SEWE this weekend and I shipped dad and Hayden off to say at his parents in the hopes that we could keep the sickness contained. So far, so good. Scottie has been fever-free all day and I’m still doing good. I thought I would hop on here and share a couple of weekend sales before I go lysol every square inch of our apartment again.
A few months ago Zach and I went to Charleston for a weekend at the Wentworth Mansion. We ate and shopped and enjoyed a much needed weekend sans kids but the real reason we were there was to shoot a campaign for the Wentworth’s Emerald Anniversary Giveaway. It was our first “his and hers” collaboration and it was actually a ton of fun to work on. We began by visiting Jordan Lash and Hampden Clothing to pick out our outfits and then spent 3+ hours with our good friend Katheryn around the grounds at the mansion getting these photos. It was a great day and what a better day to relive it on the blog than Valentine’s.
In last week’s This + That I talked about the book I just finished and a couple I was considering for my next read. While I’m working on my Maui recap I thought I would share my favorite beach reads. If you have a trip coming up grab one of these and let me know what you think! Not included in this roundup but worth mentioning are The Last Mrs. Parrish & Behind Closed Doors. I just read The Last Mrs. Parrish and it was AWEFUL. I seriously had to struggle to get through and it only became remotely interesting around page 330. Personally I felt like it was written for a 6th grader which made the raunchy scenes really confusing and disturbing. I’m following it up with Behind Closed Doors which I’m only a few chapters into but I’m hooked! I can’t tell if it’s because I loathed TLMP or because it really is that good. Time will tell, I assume. If you have any good reads please leave them in the comments. Here are the requirements: 1) must be a page-turner, 2) suspense or psychological thrillers are preferred, 3) love women protagonist , 4) bonus points if it makes you chuckle. Ready, set. go!
Napa Valley & Sonoma is one of my favorite travel locations to date! We went last year as part of a California road trip. Before the trip we asked a ton of people whose opinions and tastes we trust what all we should do on our trip. Here were our favorite spots and the ones that people recommended to us! If you have something to add leave it in the comments so people can get as many suggestions as possible. It really is so much easier planning trips with friends!
