Halloween is in a few short days but have no fear, there is still time to gussy up your front porch for all those trick-or-treaters. And even if you can’t make the Halloween deadline, beautiful fall porches are in style all season long. The plan… [read more]
Let’s be honest, first birthdays are really for the parents and not the kids. If we were planning parties truly for the kids we could just fill a room with cheerios, rolls of toilet, squeeze pouches and TVs playing the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on repeat.
Since I was really throwing a party for myself for surviving the first year of motherhood I chose a theme that would FINALLY let me buy a giant flamingo float. I’ve been eyeing one all summer long and I should have bought one when we floated down the French Broad earlier in the summer but I was afraid it would pop and leave me for dead on the bottom of the river. Or I should have bought one for all those weekends at the lake but who has the time to inflate a giant flamingo when you are wrestling babies all day and night. And since my husband seems to think it’s unacceptable to float around on a giant flamingo at the country club I didn’t buy one for our pool days either.

Happy top 10 Tuesday! You might have read my nursery post where I explained that I love to tinker around with design. My husband jokes that I may or may not rearrange furniture weekly. I love the possibility of decorating a space and a house because there aren’t any insecurities or fat days like when I’m trying to dress myself. I honestly would redecorate a different room in my house at all times and then continue the cycle for ever and ever amen. Since that would be utterly ludicrous and a giant waist of time and money I choose to live vicariously through several decor blogs and instagram accounts. Back in my BB (before babies) days I would spend hours just roaming antique barns and decor stores. Now I spend a couple minutes here or there checking in on all of my favorite blogs. My current list of favorites is below. Let me know any other good ones you follow in the comments so that I can check them out! Also, follow me on pinterest to keep up with the decor trends I’m loving!
