A couple of weekends ago Zach joined me for a little “work trip” aka eating, shopping and hotel previewing in Charleston, SC. I love to cover properties and restaurants on this blog and Charleston is one of my favorite cities to create travel guides for. During this trip we stayed at The Spectator and The Grand Bohemian and visited The Dewberry and Zero George Street. We spent time at the beach and enjoyed shopping on King Street (The Skinny Dip Charleston was a favorite). And we were sure to carve out plenty of time for eating. On this trip we hit up Hanks, Taco Boy, Ellis Creek Fish Camp, Poe’s Tavern, The Darling Oyster Bar, The Living Room, The Spectator’s Bar, Market Pavilion Rooftop, Mercantile & Mash, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream & Zero Café + Bar. I know, you’re impressed. Now excuse me while I go and hop on a treadmill somewhere.
On our most recent trip to Charleston we were lucky enough to stay the majority of the time at The Spectator. Located a few steps off of Market Street, this hotel is literally minutes from anywhere you would want to go in downtown Charleston. You can be shopping on King Street within 3 minutes of exiting the front doors and down to Waterfront Park in no less than 7. It is beautiful, impressive and the customer service is over the top. Not only was The Spectator named one of the South’s Most Stylish New Hotels by Garden & Gun but it was also recognized as the Number 1 Hotel in the Continental US by Travel & Leisure. Oh yeah, and the Number 2 Hotel in the World, also by Travel & Leisure. I don’t know about you all but I pretty much consider Travel & Leisure the authority on traveling and so those are some mighty fine accolades.
This video is a series of instagram stories I recorded while getting ready for a night out with Zach. We had spent the day shopping in Charleston and I wanted to freshen up before we ran out to catch a reservation. This is saved down straight to my iphone and loaded to YouTube so forgive the quality. Hope you enjoy the content though! All of my affiliate links to the products are below w/ color information.

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opens to the public tomorrow. I will have a shopping guide live bright and early in the morning but I wanted to go ahead and give you an idea of why this sale is so great. I have 19 fall basics below including shoes and accessories. All of the items except for this chambray shirt are included in the sale (and honestly who doesn’t already have a chambray shirt). You can take these 19 items (that you got on sale) and make them easily into 130 outfits? Can you say an entire fall wardrobe? Don’t believe me? Keep reading.

What a busy week it has been for the blog!! We’ve discussed the Nordstrom Sale, talked all about my lasering + microneedling, had a packing session and cute summer outfits with Draper James. Now it’s time for a little “me time” aka dishing all things beauty. As you all should know by now I’m a self-professed hoarder of beauty products and beauty samples. I love drugstore staples and luxury products alike and I could play around at the beauty counter all the livelong day. So imaging my excitement when I met this cute mama who not only shares my love of all things makeup and skincare but who is actually a trained professional. We have so much in common in real life, wear a lot of the same makeup shades (this is very important for a makeup friendship) and basically just have whatever the girl version is of a bromance. Girl crush? Idk.
Since we’re both busy working mamas who blog on the side (her blog is LindseyReganThorne.com) we decided to team up each month and share our current beauty favorites. If you watched my instagram live last week you know that our plan is to meet up once a month and record ourselves going through each others favorites as well as doing a mini-makeover or ten. The first go was a little rough to say the least but I’m bound and determined to get it loaded to YouTube THIS WEEK. If you know an editing genius that can take all my videos and make them pretty hit me up. Until then keep checking back here or follow along on instagram stories and I’ll let you know when it’s live. For now you can shop my July beauty must-haves below and check out Lindsey’s favorites here.

Today I’m hanging out on The Draper James blog chatting all things. Reese Witherspoon’s brand, Draper James, is full of feminine pieces and southern staples. I love their girly dresses, classic tops and chic accessories. Plus, did you know that it’s sold at Nordstrom now? In today’s post I’m wearing their Rosie Ruffle Top, Parton Check Ruffle Skirt and Hello Sugar Vanderbilt Tote.

A week ago I went to Sweetgrass Plastic Surgery in Charleston and my good friend Jordan Harper did laser treatment + microneedling on my face. Before I tell you a little bit about why I had this done and I let Jordan answer all of the questions I’ve received about the treatment I wanted to let you know that I did receive this at a discount by partnering with them. Also, they are being extremely kind and also extending a discount to my readers! You can receive 20% off of one of these treatments just by mentioning that my blog sent you. Which is a really big deal and could save you a lot of money if you wanted to have this done!
