Two weeks ago I was wrapping up a beautiful trip to Sea Island for The Southern C. The conference was fantastic and I honestly cannot say enough good things about the excellence of execution, quality of speakers and opportunities for networking. If you want to read a little bit more about The Summit you can check out this post. Not only was the conference top notch but the resort where it was held was unbelievable! Sea Island is a five start resort on the coast of GA with five miles of private beach, a 65,000 SF five-star spa, three golf courses, a fitness center and endless dining options. There are four options for lodging at Sea Island; The Cloister, The Lodge, The Inn and The Cottages. The Cloister is the “main” property and is an impressive 5-star luxury hotel.

If you’re on the hunt for a place to vacation this fall where you can be within driving distance of Greenville, SC & Asheville, NC with sweeping views of the Blue Ridge mountains then you need to consider a stay at Hotel Domestique in Travelers Rest, SC. This European-style hotel is located just 20 minutes north of Greenville, SC and a hop, skip and a jump from downtown Travelers Rest where my beloved Tandem Creperie and one of the best spots for pizza in the upstate are located. Tucked into the countryside of the Carolina hills, Hotel Domestique is like a little slice of Europe right off of highway 25. The property is home to 13 elegantly decorated rooms, a salt-water pool and an unbelievable on-site restaurant. Luckily for me this spot is pretty much in my backyard so Katheryn and I recently took a little trip to check it out!

In this weeks episode of #TheStylishSouth I’m talking about my favorite spot for Mexican in Greenville, Local Taco. It is the perfect blend of Tex-Mex meets southern soul food and they use a ton of local ingredients! You can grab a Margarita or house-made sangria and sit on the porch under a string of lights and chat the night away while stuffing for your face with the best dishes around. It’s the perfect blend of a trendy atmosphere with a laid-back vibe and they have huge garage doors that open when it’s nice out. With 8 locations in Alabama, Kentucky, South Carolina and Tennessee I’m obviously not the only one who has taken notice!
I love inviting local business owners, bloggers and travel mavens to take over The Southern Style Guide from time to time and share what they love about their city. When I first moved to the Holy City after college it was 2008 and there was this cool new boutique that had opened a year before. It was owned by two uber stylish brunettes and they filled their store with the hottest trends and celebrity styles. If I ever needed an outfit for a night out or a day by the beach it was my go-to. Fast forward 8 years later and iiBrunettes is still going strong and is as relevant as ever. I love their slightly edgy, slightly boho and forever trendy selection. In a world filled with seersucker and bright pastel fruit prints it is a breath of fresh air.
